Student Records

In order to apply for Deferred Action you will need your student records. This is one of the best ways to prove two of the Deferred Action requirements:

  1. That you are enrolled in high school.
  2. That your have resided continuously in the United Stats for more than 5 years.

Please visit the Sarasota County School Board Record Retention Center website for more information or call (941) 486-2166 .

  • If you are obtaining student records on behalf of your child you  need to fill out “other” in the “Records requested by” section and put your name and address. Then email, fax or deliver the form to the School Board of Sarasota County Record Retention Center in Osprey.
  • If you are a student who graduated from a Sarasota County School, when completing the  record request, mark “transcript”, “graduation verification” and “attendance” as the records you are requesting. Email, fax or deliver the form to the School Board of Sarasota County Record Retention Center in Osprey.

We tested this method ourselves and our student records were returned to us withing a week. We recommend requesting your student record as soon as possible because when summer ends the the school boards will be very busy and it will take longer to process your request.

Contact a Florida Immigration Attorney for help with collecting student records.
